Ever since Jasmine’s husband passed away, she has struggled to provide for her five sons. They do, however, accept his offer to move back into the home she had to leave in order to wed her husband after her estranged brother passes away. Regarding their own self-interests, the older sons accept the proposition. However, the house also harbors secrets and specters from the past that may affect the fractured family in addition to providing opportunity.
Jackson is internalized in Shine in a mysterious way, changing the character of the film. On film, that character’s angst and his fits of rage appeared genuine. Balu Varghese gets to portray a stereotypical character who is totally within his comfort zone.
In this movie, Jolly Chirayath’s performance as Jasmine, who plays a very major role, was excellent. The on-screen relationship between Ketaki Narayan and Kani Kusruti was evident as they both played significant characters in the film.
Vichitram, a film by Achu Vijayan, has a supernatural theme running through it from the very first frame. Vichitram is a tale about ghosts, not your average horror film. Although you might question where the plot is heading at points, it is pretty enjoyable. The mother and her children’s conflicts take up the entire first half of the film, but things start to get better in the second. Vichitram begins as a straightforward family drama before gradually veering towards the horror subgenre.
The viewer is shocked on a frequent basis as it advances slowly. Vichitram has some frightening and eerie moments, but is also occasionally predictable. Vichitram’s cleverest trick is how, by the conclusion, the paranormal experiences are so easily and movingly explained away. This film has more of an agenda than just to frighten viewers. The spectators are captivated by the genuine setting, characters, and their subtleties.
Verdict; Vichitram starts out as a simple family story before drifting gradually into the horror subgenre. The movie has some spooky and unsettling moments, but it also predictable in parts. Vichitram is nonetheless a commendable attempt from the team! 3/5
