Karthi continued to tell different tales that occasionally comes to him. The young actor produced a fantastic performance as Sardar, despite the fact that the character appears to be fairly ordinary. He added a natural touch and expanded on it. Both of his character makeovers are well-represented. He especially adds authentic dimension to the action with his appearance in the old man’s attire.
Raashi Khann is cast in a favorable position, where she supports Karthi admirably and enhances the visual appeal of the film. It was wonderful to see former actress Laila again after a long absence in a significant part. Rajisha, the second main character, performed admirably as well. In Sardaar, Chunkey Pandey, who had a significant role, was brutally effective. He is doing well with each film.
Director PS Mithran deserves praise for identifying a socially significant national issue and infusing intriguing spy elements into it. The filmmaker is successful in delivering a seamless narrative across the entire film. In contrast to Irumbu Thirai, which discusses data security and privacy, Sardar discusses the effects of the commercialization of drinking water. The best visual settings, characters, clothes, and everything else for the movie were carefully chosen by the filmmakers. The music and background score by GV Prakash enhance the scenes and are a benefit to the movie.
In the second half, the stakes are rather high and there is potential for greater drama and excitement, but filmmaker Mithran fails to fully exploit this potential and presents some events in an unsurprising way. A stronger bang at the conclusion would have been much better, despite the nice finale.
Sardar is a powerful spy thriller with a strong narrative that uses real-world drama and action. Even though the second half of the movie has several problems and is a little too long, Karthi’s Sardar is still a spectacular Diwali firework. The star of the movie Karthi, who bears the whole thing on his shoulders, is the movie’s best part. 3/5
