PLOT

Mammootty, playing Luke Antony, maintains the suspense surrounding his motives while also bringing the excitement. Undoubtedly, he is back with a new character that the audience will find abhorrent. Mammootty showed Luke’s roughness and attention in a subtle yet effective way.

Bindu Panicker is the one actor who will receive a lot of praise and admiration after “Rorschach.” With this movie, she has created a new identity for herself, and her performance was excellent in terms of subtlety and conviction. The actor plays a strong part that is full of surprises and delivers it in an incredibly captivating way. Other actors like Jagadeesh, Kottayam Nazir, Sharafudheen, Grace Antony, and Sanju Sivram do a good job of moving the plot forward and giving each character depth, respectively.

Performance

Nissam Basheer, who made his directorial debut with the hotly contested Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha, proves himself unpredictable by helming a film that is its complete antithesis. A psychological test known as a “Rorschach” is used in medicine to evaluate a person’s personality qualities based on how they read an inkblot. The film’s central theme—how obsession can engulf a person—is effectively conveyed. The narrative supports the title.

Direction / Technical Side

Although it has flaws, this film is ultimately gratifying for its unwavering attention and sincerity in portraying an unusual style. It is a believable genre-bender. The film’s plot, which starts out mysterious and then gradually discloses its cards, is tightly under control by Nisam. Although viewers may guess who and why in Luke’s background by the conclusion of the first half, what makes the story engaging is how he exacts his vengeance and accomplishes his main goals. Rorschach has only improved Mammootty’s class if Bheeshma Parvam had raised the actor’s style.

Given the excellent quality of his background score, composer Midhun Mukundan merits special recognition. Every scene has a different musical cue that perfectly matches the action and advances the mystery. The cinematography of Nimish Ravi is excellent. Cinematography subtly informs the audience about each scene’s characteristics through the choice of camera movements and the use of angled shots. Without actually losing focus, Kiran Das’s editing keeps the many sequences connected.
