Utharavathi, who is down on luck, turns to a seer, who advises him to steal a bike to change his fortunes. This leads to an accident that involves Varahi, the titular piglet that is also connected to the life of Thittani. While Utharavathi and his motley group of friends (Thangadurai, Ramar and Singampuli) want to get hold of Varahi to recreate that accident, Thittani has to safeguard Varahi to ensure his upcoming marriage isn’t jeopardised.

PLOT

Karunakaran has done a very good job playing the lead role, and has a full-length role to play. The actor proves that he can take over such roles and play them effortlessly. Ramar has a good part to play too. Yogi Babu is unlike much of the roles he has done, and has a very controlled outing here.

Performance

The film is good fun, revelling in situational humour that keeps it entertaining till the very end. Right from the opening scene, the director peppers the film with humour, Even at two hours, the film seems stretched. What adds more levity to proceedings is K’s quirky soundtrack and some enjoyable montage songs.

It is definitely not the kind of film one would expect from the filmmaker who made the brilliant Kirumi, and recently directed four episodes of Amazon Prime Video’s impressive Suzhal. Comparatively the second half of the film is better than the first half. More importantly, the climax of the film isn’t impactful enough

Verdict; Panni kutty is neither a great movie or too bad, it is a harmless watch if you enjoys brainless Comedy Movies of this Genre! 3/5
