Ramya Krishna and Vijay Deverakonda are both from Karimnagar. Mumbai serves as the setting for the movie. The plot of Liger centers around Vijay Deverakonda, an underdog with a big goal to win an MMA championship. In order to fight like his idol, the well-known MMA fighter Mark Anderson, and catch his attention, he puts in a lot of effort and rises through the ranks.
PLOT
However, Vijay Deverakonda deals with a lot of difficulties as a result of his stuttering issue. How does Deverakonda’s mother Ramya Krishan support him in realizing his dream? The main plot of the story revolves around what Ramya Krishna does to make sure her son achieves his goal.
PLOT
Without a doubt, Vijay Deverakonda is Liger’s foundation. Vijay Deverakonda put his all for the picture, and the metamorphosis of his body is incredible. A stutterer is portrayed by Vijay Deverakonda. Deverakonda absolutely nailed his persona, and his language is simply excellent. It takes a lot of practice to accomplish, and Deverakonda has undoubtedly put in a lot of effort to do it flawlessly. If the stuttering predominated large amounts of the first half, assisting the romance, then the action and stammering are dominant in the second half.
Performance
In Liger, Ananya Panday’s character has little room for performance. There is nothing more to it than her portrayal of the effervescent, charming affluent girl. In the movie, Ramya Krishna performs admirably. In her act as Vijay Devarakonda’s mother, Ramya Krishna does well and elicits appropriate feelings. At the film’s conclusion, Mike Tyson makes a cameo appearance. Although Puri Jagannadh hasn’t fully utilized Mike Tyson, his character carries a lot of weight in the movie.
Performance
For Liger, the story is shallow and predictable, like most mass masala movies. We are aware of the direction it is going in and the outcome. It is so foreseeably. The first half features a decent tale and some top-notch music. But the coin is toss for the second half. Vijay’s voyage to the US and his rise to fame appear improbable. The film has no emotional resonance at all, which is where Liger falls short. Although Puri is known for elevating his hero characters, there aren’t many scenes in Liger that do this.
Direction / Technical Side
The movie has outstanding production quality. Liger’s soundtrack was created by numerous composers. In terms of auditory attractiveness, they lack Puri Jagannadh’s popular song. However, modern on-screen picturization and appearing in brief spurts provide relief. The cinematography by Vishnu Sharma is adequate because he made an effort to present the entire movie in a vibrant manner. Editing by Junaid Siddiqui doesn’t make a strong impression.
Direction / Technical Side
Verdict; Despite the efforts made by Vijay Deverakonda, the film’s main flaw is its lack of an engaging storyline. Liger’s first half is tolerable, allowing for mediocrity to get away with it. But things quickly turn negative in the second part. Sadly, with Liger, Puri squandered a significant opportunity. 3/5
