Satya Priya (Nayanthara) and Jaidev (Satya Dev), the daughter and son-in-law of the late Chief Minister PKR, decided to lead the party and the government after his death. Satya Priya, who is unaware of her husband’s true nature, that Jaidev be elected as the new party leader, but the MLAs and party leaders reject her suggestion in favor of Brahma (Chiranjeevi), the late CM’s stepson. In order to prevent Brahma from attending the celebration, Satya Priya hates him. With the assistance of a Mumbai don, Jaidev plans to purchase every MLA. In exchange, when Jaidev is elected as the state’s chief executive, the Mumbai mafia boss asks for permission to establish a drug production business in the state. The rest of the narrative is about Brahma’s game-playing and how he protects his sister Satya Priya and the state from Jaidev’s plots.
After a long period, Chiranjeevi finally portrayed a character that suited his image and age. In a kingmaker job that needed him to look cool while controlling the proceedings from behind, he gave a mature performance. Although Chiranjeevi doesn’t speak much, he emotes beautifully through his eyes.
Salman Khan, the biggest name in Bollywood, receives a poor treatment in his Tollywood debut. The way he enters the movie and the scenes that follow seem unimportant. The film gains a lot of depth from Nayanthara, who plays a pivotal role. However, the youthful hero Satyadev is the one who really steals the show. He shocks you with his wicked deed and makes Chiranjeevi’s ideal adversary.
Despite the fact that “Godfather” is a remake, the plot is not entirely original. Additionally, it is not your typical masala film. The essential plot of “Godfather” and “Lucifer” are the same, but Mohan Raja’s numerous alterations have lessened their impact. As soon as Megastar shows up, the film picks up speed and begins to go on. After that, the action moves along a little faster, and Mohan Raja made sure that there are satisfying passages that elevate the hero on a regular basis.
The second half begins sluggishly after a fast-paced first one. After Megastar makes his entrance, the film picks back up steam. The closing thirty minutes are full of powerful moments, and the emotional and dramatic passages both worked out well. The BGM of the movie, which was composed by Thaman, significantly improves the proceedings. Excellent color choices were made by Nirva Shah to highlight the political structure, and the production design is also very well done.
Verdict; Overall, Jayam Mohan Raja did a wonderful job of blending the original and the adaptation for the Telugu audience. The star of the movie, Chiranjeevi, who plays the role of the kingmaker, along with Satyadev and Nayanthara, who both give strong performances that keep you interested! 3.5/5
