Artistes’ Performances

Congratulations to Vishnu Vishal for taking a prominent role with equal opportunity for a female actor. He portrays a victim of easy manipulation by his chauvinist uncle who expects his wife to follow the patriarchal rules. As an actor, Vishnu Vishal was excellent. He gets chuckles for playing the helpless husband.

Artistes’ Performances

As a means of expressing gender politics, Aishwarya Lekshmi serves as the movie’s main protagonist. In the entire film, her scenes are the greatest. She fully commits to being the story’s spirit. The other well-known actors in the ensemble cast include Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, etc. Kaali Venkat excels as a lawyer who fears his own wife. Being Veera’s uncle, Karunas attracts attention.

Direction / Technical Side

Gatta Kusthi’s awareness of its dated approach to a formulaic plot is one of its strongest qualities. The way in which humorous scenes are handled, together with Vishnu and Aishwarya’s excellent performances, enhance the story. The intermission episode, which features an action scene starring Aishwarya, is an exhilarating ride and provides little more than family-friendly entertainment. Many of the comedic scenes in the first half work occasionally, but the second half devolves into heavy-handed predictability and melodrama.

Direction / Technical Side

The premise and skillful weaving of humorous situations by writer and director Chella Ayyavu are praiseworthy. But it has flaws of its own. Justin Prabhakaran, known for his work on “Radhe Shyam,” provides the music, however the tracks are unmemorable. The cinematography of Richard M. Nathan is impressive. A comedic approach is used to the serious issue of masculine ego. Overall, Matti Kusthi has its moments.

Major Plus Points

– First Half Comedy Scenes – Lead Pair Acting – Intermission Scene

Verdict

Despite the predictable nature of the plot, Vishnu and Aishwarya’s great acting elevate the tale thanks to the manner that comical parts are handled. Such “comedy moments” dominate the first half, which is wrapped up with an amazing intermission climax. Overall, Gatta Kusthi succeeds as a nice family entertainment with its moments.
