Gist of the Story

Taking a vacation from their daily lives, three women—a mother, a daughter, and a mother-in-law—decide to travel. Along with altering the lives of those in its immediate vicinity, the voyage also aids in the soul-liberation of those people.

Detailed Plot

Because to Rajarathnam, her incredibly overprotective son, Sundari, a loving and devoted grandmother, feels completely smothered and stifled after the devastating loss of her husband. Her daughter-in-law Kaveri is often viewed as “just a mother” who yearns for acceptance and genuine love. Despite this perception, she is undeniably a remarkable and exemplary mother. In the midst of their individual struggles, Sanya Balachandran’s granddaughter Nivedhitha, also known as Nivi, finds herself facing a series of difficult and demanding circumstances. Nivi is confronted with the agonizing decision of choosing between her adoring boyfriend Karthik and her undying passion for cricket. Sensing a shared dissatisfaction with their current existence, Sundari, Kaveri, and Nivi collectively make the bold choice to embark on a transformative road trip, venturing far away from the men in their lives. Throughout their journey, they encounter various individuals who challenge, enlighten, and inspire them. As a result, they undergo profound transformations, gaining new perspectives about themselves, the world, and their own worth and significance.

Artistes’ Performances

Lakshmi, who plays the eldest family member Sundari, puts on a very hilarious performance. She gives a fantastic performance and transforms Sundari into a confident, cool, and enjoyable person. In his portrayal of Kaveri, actor Madhoo does a fantastic job. After years of being a wife and mother, Kaveri loses her original self. But Madhoo makes you admire and support Kaveri when she releases her genuine self. Her inexperienced naivety occasionally makes you chuckle. Santhy Balachandran gives a terrific performance, balancing Nivi’s emotional and independent traits. The rest of the cast likewise performs admirably.

Direction / Technical Side

Many films and television shows have already shown us how travelling may free our souls. The eight-part series’ principal protagonists and the internal difficulties they are experiencing are what make it unique, though. The misadventure is full of flashbacks, fantasy scenes, song breaks, and cheesy moments that come from a wedding and a run-in with an idealised rural couple. The webseries emphasises a housewife’s sacrifice. It portrays a woman who is conflicted about the idea of marriage while another woman consciously chooses not to tie the knot. In this series, the audience sees the complexities and challenges faced by these individuals as they navigate through their personal journeys and make decisions that shape their lives. The storyline beautifully captures the essence of sacrifice, love, and the pursuit of dreams.

However, the series follows a bit of a hurried and clichéd way to resolve the issues between Kaveri and Rajaratnam, Nivedita and Karthik. Furthermore, the narrative lacks depth and fails to explore the complexity of their relationships. As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that the conflicts are resolved in a rushed manner, leaving the audience craving for a more nuanced and satisfying resolution. The characterization also suffers from being formulaic and predictable, further diminishing the impact of the story. Ultimately, the series falls short of delivering a compelling and memorable exploration of the emotional dynamics between the main characters.

Verdict;

The webseries explores the impact of travel on our souls through eight-part episodes, focusing on housewives’ sacrifices and relationships. However, the resolution of issues between Kaveri and Rajaratnam and Nivedita and Karthik is rushed and clichéd, leaving audiences craving more. Overall, the webseries effectively captures the essence of sacrifice, love, and the pursuit of dreams despite minor flaws.
