Samantha’s Shaakuntalam Trailer Review & Analysis

The much awaited mythological drama Shaakuntalam starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu has released its first trailer. The film, which Gunasekhar directed and wrote, was produced by Neelima Guna and was presented by Dil Raju. The lavishly produced movie is based on the critically renowned Sanskrit play “Abhijnana Shakuntalam” by Kalidasa. Samantha and Dev Mohan’s portrayals of King Dushyant and Shakuntala from the Mahabharata’s epic love narrative serve as the central themes of Shaakuntalam. The movie will be shown in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada movie theaters.

The trailer begins with a picture of a vast country and a voiceover introducing a baby left behind by its parents, Menaka and Viswamithra. The baby is identified as Shaakuntala in the trailer, who was born with a mission. In the following frame, King Dushyant is presented, and in a forested setting, he first encounters Shaakuntala. It’s love at first sight, and Samantha looks utterly ethereal when the camera pans to her. Dushyant first notices her and finds her to be covered in butterflies. Along with Samantha and Dev Mohan, other actors who appear in Shakuntalam include Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M. Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jisshu Sengupta. Mani Sharma scored the soundtrack for the movie and also wrote the background music. Sekhar V. Joseph shot the movie, while Prawin Pudi edited it.
