Detailed Plot
Premalu, a Malayalam film with an odd Telugu title, tells the tale of Hyderabadi couple Sachin (Naslen K Gafoor) and Reenu (Mamitha Baiju). Sachin is employed by a fast-food restaurant, while Reenu works for an IT company. His goal is to relocate to the UK. At the wedding, Sachin meets Reenu, and he is instantly smitten. Through humorous events, the majority of which cause the audience to erupt in laughter, they become friends. Although they come from diverse familial backgrounds, the novel presents these differences in a more humorous way. Reenu’s squad leader, Aadhi (Shyam Mohan), has a persona akin to most of the males in Girish’s movies. He’s fascinating and annoying all at once.
Aadi is a little odd and very possessive of Reenu in Premalu. There are several humorous sequences with Reenu, Sachin, and Adhi. Sachin’s buddy Amal Davis (Sangeeth Pratap) is getting ready for the GATE with the intention of getting his girlfriend admitted to IIT-Roorkee. Akhila Bhargavan plays Karthika, Reenu’s coworker. In the movie, they both had significant supporting parts. Will Sachin succeed in winning Reenu’s affection? This is the essence of Premalu.
Artistes’ Performances
It is evident that Naslen is Premalu’s heart and soul. His depiction of Sachin, a figure who is incredibly sympathetic to viewers, is reminiscent of the boy-next-door personas that actors like Dilieep pioneered in the 1990s. The attractiveness of the picture is further enhanced by Naslen’s on-screen chemistry with Sangeeth and Mamitha.
With ease, Mamitha sheds the Super Sharanya characteristics from Girish AD’s earlier work to create a believable representation of a contemporary metropolitan girl in the role of Reenu. With his perfect comic timing and powerful acting, Sangeeth Prathap gives the film depth and hilarity. Shyam Mohan gives an equally impressive representation as Adhi, adding a captivating element to the ensemble.
Direction / Technical Side
Girish AD’s charming romantic comedy Premalu is notable for its creative style and sympathetic moments. The film, which is set in Hyderabad, a bustling metropolis, follows a group of young people as they navigate friendship, love, and careers. Natural Chemistry: There is a charming chemistry between the lead actors, Sachin (Naslen) and Mamitha Baiju (Reenu). The conversation is delightfully realistic, and their relationships seem sincere. Subtle Humor: Premalu doesn’t use made-up jokes. Rather, comedy is skillfully incorporated into ordinary circumstances. As a result, the movie has a genuine and approachable vibe. Character Dynamics: The plot is made more complex by the appearance of Reenu’s professional “bestie,” Aadhi (played by Shyam Mohan). Their unsaid emotions result in a fascinating triangle of love.
Predictable narrative: Despite the film’s original approach, the main narrative revolves around well-known romantic clichés. This predictability may be comforting to fans of classic love stories, but it may turn off those looking for innovative storylines.
Verdict;
Premalu’s winning combination of relatability, heart, and comedy makes it a winner. This corny romantic comedy is kept together by Naslen and Mamitha Baiju’s performances, which makes it enjoyable to watch for anyone looking for cheerful entertainment.
