Superstar of Malayalam cinema Mohanlal is now preparing for his very ambitious movie: Malaikottai Vaaliban, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The much awaited teaser for Mohanlal’s role in the Lijo Jose Pellissery period drama “Malaikottai Vaaliban” is now available. The suspenseful one-and-a-half-minute teaser gives away virtually little about the movie’s concept. The teaser’s standout feature is Mohanlal’s mesmerizing voice, which has fans shivering with anticipation. The teaser opens with Mohanlal’s monologue in Tamil, “What you have seen is the truth.” A falsehood is something you haven’t seen. I’m going to reveal the truth to you immediately. Mohanlal screams the final sentence, swinging his scarf to create a posture fit for a wallpaper, and that’s all the teaser gives us.
After the filming of Malaikottai Vaaliban was finished, Mohanlal showered director LJP with accolades. “We are still investigating Lijo, but I have no doubt that this film will rank among the producers’ best efforts. My sincere thanks go out to Lijo, Shibu, and all the other cast members. The shoot was amazing. At the wrap-up reception for the movie, Mohanlal declared, “Despite our fears, I can say with certainty that we have done a great job.” It has been reported that Mohanlal plays a pre-Independence era wrestler in the movie. The film, which was filmed over 130 days in Rajasthan, Chennai, and Puducherry, also stars actor-comedian Danish Sait, Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni, and Bengali actor Katha Nandi (who will be featured in Thalaikoothal this year) in important parts.
P S Rafeeque, who previously collaborated with Lijo on films such as “Nayakan” and “Amen,” wrote the script for “Malaikottai Vaaliban.” Prashanth Pillai composed the film’s soundtrack, and Madhu Neelakandan handled the photography. The film will be released in theaters on January 25. Notable actors in it include Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manoj Moses, Katha Nandi, and Manikandan Achari.
