Gist of the Story
Unexpected notice forces a group of villagers who hunt for their living to leave their current residence. The main plot of the narrative is how they escape the predicament by identifying the genuine offender.
Plot
The setting of this story is a village in Kundapura that is located on the edge of a reserve forest. This land, which is thought to have been given as a gift by the king centuries ago, becomes a source of conflict for the government because it encroaches on a reserve forest area and for the local landowner because he wants to regain what he believes is properly his. The main dispute in this story is between the locals, the forest service, and the landowner. Forest is referred to as kantara. The movie is centered around that. The film depicts everything that takes place in the forest, including who the forest belongs to and what happens to the locals when those in positions of authority attempt to occupy it.
Performance
Shiva is brilliantly portrayed by actor Rishab, who gives life to this unusual character. For the part, he underwent a significant and severe change, and the results are obvious. Rishab will undoubtedly receive cheers and applause from the audience for his performance in the suspenseful finale. Kishore is given a good cop job, and he plays it with maturity. As the courteous landlord, Achyuth Kumar exudes strength, yet his voice muffles it. The acting of Manasi Sudhir, Pramod Shetty, and Prakash Thuminad is also respectable.
Direction / Technical Side
With every movie, Rishab just gets better, and Hombale Films’ support has helped the director to make the movie more genuine. He has concocted a compelling tale. Both the plot and the characters are skillfully developed inside the first fifteen minutes. Both children and elderly in the forest are preoccupied with their daily lives. It is a masterfully crafted tale with comedy, humor, love, retaliation, and emotions expressed in the greatest way imaginable. Additionally, Kantara examines certain important topics like caste prejudice. Even though there isn’t a dedicated comedy track, several of the characters have enough peculiarities to up the fun factor. The narration in the movie is clear, and the well-staged action scenes deserve particular praise.
One of the film’s great strengths is without a doubt Arvind’s cinematography, which manages to portray Shiva’s fury while simultaneously maintaining that distant-yet-unique focus on the actors. The music that Ajaneesh Loknath has composed for both the songs and the background soundtrack is very entrancing and soothing to the ear.
Verdict; The movie “Kantara” is not just technically sophisticated but also has a strong narrative. The narration in the movie is clear, and the well-staged action scenes deserve particular praise. It is an expertly created story that expresses humour, humor, love, retaliation, and emotions in the most beautiful way imaginable.
