Exclusive Look Inside Manjummel Boys’ Journey to the Elite 200 Crore Club!
In just 26 days, the Malayalam movie “Manjummel Boys” has made a staggering Rs 200 crore in box office revenue globally. With this momentous occasion, a Malayalam film has become the first to join the elite Rs 200-crore club. A significant portion of the movie’s success may be ascribed to its exceptional run in Tamil Nadu, where it has made over ₹50 crore. The film, which was directed by Chidambaram, shattered Jude Anthany Joseph’s flood tale (2018), which held the record for the highest grossing Malayalam movie with over ₹150 crore.
Manjummel Boys, which was released on February 22, has important characters played by Soubin Shahir, Lal Jr., Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathy. Crowded movie theaters and record-breaking ticket sales greeted it. The movie was expected to set new records for the Malayalam cinema industry because its momentum didn’t seem to be slowing down. Manjummel Boys topped the film Pulimurugan’s collection of Rs 139.5 crore in just 17 days, according to a report published in Cue Studio. As if that weren’t enough, on March 15 the movie surpassed the whole earnings of Rs 175.6 crore for 2018.
Chidambaram, who debuted in 2021 with the deftly crafted film Jan.E.Man, is the director of Manjummel Boys. Manjummel Boys, which depicts a group of young guys from lower-middle class backgrounds traveling to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, likewise honors male friendship, much like Jan.E.Man did. In the 2018 film Kumbalangi Nights, Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, who grabbed attention for their outstanding portrayal of brothers in a dysfunctional home, reunite to build a new brotherhood.
