Detailed Plot

The story of Abraham Ozler centers on Jayaram, a police officer who, following the murder of his wife and children, is suffering from acute despair and sleeplessness. Ozler is plagued by his failure to find his family’s remains, even though he is currently the ACP of Trichur City, Kerala. In an attempt to find closure, he pays the offending criminal many visits, but the criminal—now a recovered drug addict—cannot remember where they are buried. Following his therapist’s instruction to continue working toward his recovery, Ozler begins an inquiry when a string of killings occurs throughout the city. The famous Mammootty makes a lengthy appearance as Alexander, the figure the trail leads to. The central plot of the film is how Mammootty’s mysterious Alexander and Ozler’s personal sorrow are intricately connected.

Artistes’ Performances

With his depiction as ACP Abraham Ozler, Jayaram’s performance in “Abraham Ozler” stands out as a particularly noteworthy feature. Jayaram skillfully handles the complexity of his role, capturing the moody investigator’s emotional difficulties despite a relatively rough first half. His excellent performance adds a lot to the movie’s appeal and, after a break, solidifies his place in Malayalam cinema history. The emotional depth he gives to the character and a compelling portrayal of a dedicated detective battling with personal issues display Jayaram’s flexibility as an actor.

The unexpected part that Mammootty plays in the movie adds an extra element of suspense. Without a doubt, the appearance of the seasoned actor in “Abraham Ozler” is a highlight. Fan excitement is sparked by Mammootty’s captivating performance and fashionable look, which provide an exciting new layer to the story. The Malayalam film has a significant part for Vineeth, played by Arjun Ashokan. Senthil Rajamani, who plays sub-inspector Sijo, is always with Ozler. The performer gives a nuanced performance. An important part of the flashback narrative is played by Anaswara Rajan as Suja. In his part as Xavi Punoos, Jagadeesh performs admirably.

Direction / Technical Side

One may categorize Midhun Manuel Thomas’ Abraham Ozler, which stars Jayaram in the lead role, as a criminal thriller movie that satisfies the genre’s fundamental requirements. Though the first half moves along at a good clip, there isn’t much of an emotional connection to the police officers pursuing the story, which makes it difficult to follow up if the spectator is distracted by the details. But in keeping with the adage “to end with a bang,” Midhun uses the appropriate strategies in the second part to give viewers a satisfying resolution. His attention to detail and foresight distinguish him from other professionals in the field. In the second half, he surprises everyone again by bringing in seasoned actor Mammootty.

Dr. Randheesh Krishnan, the screenwriter, skillfully blends medical jargon to give the story depth and maintain audience interest. However, greater screen execution is still needed to achieve the appropriate intensity despite these hopeful qualities. Momentum wanes around the midway point since almost half of the challenge has been solved. Initially a character study of a deranged police officer, it gradually devolves almost entirely into a predictable story of revenge. A medical professional introduces the film by discussing Ozler’s mental health issues, which include his melancholy and insomnia after a dreadful incident. But at the conclusion of the movie, you never get the impression that his mental health has gotten better.

One of the reasons for the excitement was the long cameo Mammootty makes in the movie. Especially considering it follows on the heels of his recent run of outstanding films. Strangely, Mammootty’s entrance at the end of the movie is when it really begins to take up steam. Alexander is an easy role for the actor, but in the end, he gives Abraham Ozler the much-needed gravitas.

Verdict;

For those looking for a medical thriller mixed with an investigation drama, Abraham Ozler is definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Despite its drawbacks, the film is nonetheless worth seeing because of its outstanding performances. Unquestionably, the highlight of “Ozler” is Mammootty’s presence.
