Gist of the Story
Usha, Manu, and their family friends decide to act after learning an unexpected truth about Meera, their younger sister, who is regarded as the more responsible one in the family and a role model. They do this by making sure their community is kept in the shadows.
Detailed Plot
A family that is closely related to the Nair Service Society is first seen in the movie. Inter-caste marriages are thus strictly prohibited since they would damage the karayogam’s and the family’s image. Manu works as an overseer for the public works department and assumes the position of NSS secretary to impress his lover’s father. His mother is superstitious and believes in a caste ghost, while Meera is obedient and diligent in her studies. Despite earning money, Manu is not as responsible as Meera, who supports the family by enrolling in tuition-paying programs. Meera has a partner who belongs to a different tribe, which Manu and his coworker Jose discover. Manu persuades his mother Usha to accept this. Meera had multiple relationships with males, it is later discovered. Due to their concerns, they decide to postpone Meera’s wedding. In Madhura Manohara Moham, we see Manu’s wonderfully absurd quest to locate Meera the perfect husband.
Artistes’ Performances
Rajisha Vijayan does a great job as Meera, and in the breakup moments in the second part, she just manages to score. It’s entertaining to see how Sharaf U Dheen balances being realistic and unconventional in his reinvention of his comedic approach. Ambadi is well-cast by Althaf Salim. Saiju Kurup is outstanding as Jeevaraj, the bride. The seasoned actor can be trusted to keep Vijayaraghavan safe in his role as Indrasena Kurup. Shalabha, played by Arsha Baiju, is a talented actress and would make a nice girlfriend. Bindu Panicker reprises her clichéd role as the mother, but because she is an expert at playing such roles, her performance was flawless.
Direction / Technical Side
The movie includes various clever concepts from the get-go about how it portrays its characters and also makes fun of their hypocrisy, first with regard to their caste and subsequently with regard to their selective tolerance of different religions. The movie’s first half starts off by highlighting the family’s relationship, which becomes crucial when one of the characters acknowledges that despite growing up next to her, he doesn’t know his sister. You tend to expect something very refreshing at the end of the film Madhura Manohara Moham when you observe how the drama in the second half of the film delightfully grows. However, the conclusion was a little hazy regarding its main character since it appeared to be trying to be safe someplace. Despite its amusement and intelligent cast, the movie fails to capitalize on its premise and opts to follow a formulaic course in its third act. The movie may have given the audience something to think about if it hadn’t played it safe and sought to appeal to all audiences. Stephy Zaviour, a former costume designer who is now a filmmaker, chooses a fairly light-hearted approach for her first film.
Verdict; Madhura Manohara Moham is a light-hearted film that highlights the hypocrisy of its characters and their selective tolerance of different religions. Despite having a few hilarious moments, the final act of the movie takes a conventional path and does not work to make the most of its intriguing idea. OKayish Family Entertainer!
