Young Superstar To Atman: The Journey
For his roles in "Maanaadu" and "Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu," which earned him the nickname "Atman" from his admirers, the actor underwent a significant shift in his physical health and virtually shed 51 kgs.
While the actor gained popularity for his charisma on screen and superb dancing abilities, his major break came in 2004 with Manmadhan, a movie he created and directed at the age of 22.
After appearing in a number of commercial films, the actor shocked viewers in 2010 with his understated portrayal in Gautham Vasudev Menon's heartbreaking romance Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya.
Following a few dud performances, the actor strove to improve his script selection and made a comeback in Tamil film with Venkat Prabhu's "Maanaadu."
It was only natural for him to become a celebrity in the film industry given his family's deep ties to the industry.
