Gist of the Story

Bachu is facing a serious issue as he aspires to become a businessman. Although he is unwilling to modify his mind, his family compels him to travel to Gulf. He changes his course of action when a lockdown is imposed.

Detailed Plot

Our main character is Bachu, also known as Basheerudhin, a young man from Kozhikode who operates several businesses to make a living. Despite his family’s wishes for him to leave Kerala for a better future in the Gulf, he makes an ongoing effort to succeed and remain in Kerala. His business endeavors are the tools to this end. However, everything comes to an abrupt halt during the epidemic, when even his well-laid plans are derailed. But the family suffers a tragedy. Bachu’s father passes away in Qatar one day before his vacation to Kerala. Bachu needs to return his body so he can bury his father in his own country while the entire State is restrained by COVID-19 and protocols. Will he be able to maintain his financial stability while staying in Kerala and be successful in his endeavors forms the crux of the story.

Artistes’ Performances

Basil has been playing leading roles in recent films, and nearly every one of them has a humorous undertone. However, Basil gave a just outstanding performance in this role as a young man who wasn’t too carefree in life. I was genuinely surprised by Basil Joseph’s performance as Bachu. Basil Joseph gives his best performance of his career in this role, gently and naturally expressing every emotion. It’s encouraging to see Nirmal Palazhi in a major part after seeing him frequently sidelined in stupid, sidekick roles. Veteran actors like Indrans, Sudheesh, and Jaffer Idukki have minor roles but make sure to leave a memorable impression. Another crucial character is played by Binu Pappu showcasing a good performance. The mother, Sreeja Ravi, and sister, Fara Shibla, were also excellent choices.

Direction / Technical Side

Malayalam cinema frequently features tales of young, unsuccessful entrepreneurs. The pandemic-related difficulties faced by small enterprises in Kerala are now given room in this film. Harshad discussed the prejudice experienced by the underprivileged in his previous films, Unda and Puzhu. In KKA, he criticizes the system once more while attempting to demonstrate its indifference to the average person. The most successful aspect of Muhashin’s first film as a filmmaker is its portrayal of people’s powerlessness, whether it be when they are faced with loss and regret or when a system of rules for the greater good doesn’t allow for a person’s want. Instead of using surprises or twists, he has chosen a story that is grounded in emotions.

The obstacles Bachu encounters are predictable because we have seen situations quite similar to them in many previous films. When the focus of the narrative switches to Bachu’s father’s passing, the task facing the hero is somewhat too onerous, but the filmmaker does a great job of showing the journey that followed. Considering the movie’s emotional tone, Govind Vasantha’s songs were excellent. Perfect cinematography was provided by S. Mundol and Arjun Sethu.

Verdict; It is difficult to categorize Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham as an effortlessly and consistently immersing film. The entire ensemble gives excellent performances in KKA, a well-made movie about the struggles caused by a pandemic. In a nutshell an emotionally charged movie with the right emotions.
