One Liner
Two immigrant families who live in the same Dubai apartment building unintentionally clash because of certain miscommunications. Things get insane as the actual lovers are exposed.
Detailed Plot
In Dubai, Balakrishnan, also known as Balu, works as an insurance agent and resides with his wife. After eight years of marriage, the couple is still without a child. Ennalum Ente Aliya depicts the events that transpire in their home upon the arrival of Vivek, Balu’s brother-in-law. Another couple, Karim and Sulfi, live in the same apartment building in Dubai and worry about their daughter Ismi whenever she is on the phone. On the eve of the wedding, another girl elopes with someone, which causes Zulfi to become anxious and make Karim confront Vivek since she doesn’t believe he is dating Ismi.
Artistes’ Performances
Balu and Lakshmi, played by Gayatri Arun and Suraj Venjaramoodu, are a childless couple. Suraj hasn’t played silly, slapstick comedic roles in a long. This is a film which brings him to his fort. Suraj and Siddique make for wonderful on-screen partners since they are at ease in all situations. Even the most satirical emotions appear extremely natural when they are portrayed by Sidhique, an actor with a very delicate sense of humor. In this movie, Siddique and Lenaa’s banter will make you laugh out loud.
Direction / Technical Side
In “Ennalum Ente Aliya,” directed by Bash Mohammed, the emphasis is on marriage and the associated issues that a family encounters. The setup is straightforward as the director linearly explains the two families and their issues. Although the movie moves at a leisurely pace, these performers’ numerous sequences keep the audience engaged. Is it worthwhile to constantly worry about “what the people will think”? This is the inquiry that the film explores. Shouldn’t a man and a woman be more than simply friends? Shouldn’t marriage only be between people of the same religion? The movie is also for those who always worry about what others would think. Bash Mohammed, the director, has made an effort to reach a variety of viewers. Only the lead actors’ performances stand out in the writing, which isn’t always a negative thing. Despite its best efforts, “Ennalum Ente Aliya” may fall short of expectations from the audience in its exploration of situational humor, still it has it’s fair share of moments.
Verdict; “Ennalum Ente Aliya,” is a straightforward film that has it’s moments in exploring situational humor. But taken as a whole, it might not appeal to every audience type. Suraj and Siddique’s outstanding on-screen chemistry is the film’s biggest plus.
