One Liner
A young woman suffers from short-term memory loss and uses a diary to keep track of her life. When her diary is lost, it is found by a young man who falls in love with the person it tells him about.
Detailed Plot
A girl whom Siddhu (Nikhil Siddharth), an app developer, loves betrays him. In the midst of his sadness as a result of this, Siddhu finds Nandhini’s (Anupama Parameswaran) diary on a road. Siddhu begins reading it and gradually develops feelings for her. Siddhu discovers many fascinating details about Nandhini, and when he makes an attempt to meet her, the story takes a significant turn. It is what? He met her, right? Did Siddhu tell Nandhini about his emotions for her? This is the main plot of the movie.
Artistes’ Performances
The young man who falls in love with a girl he has never seen or met is convincingly portrayed by Nikhil Siddharth. Once more, Nikhil demonstrates his talent at selecting intriguing tales. In this passionate love story, Anupama Parmeswaran is the star. For Nandini, Anupama is the ideal casting choice. She excels at dramatic scenes. The hero’s friend is a noteworthy side character for Sarayu as Bhagi. In his capacity as a doctor, Arjun Kalyan does alright.
Direction / Technical Side
Sukumar is the author of the tale “18 Pages,” in which two people who had never met before fell in love as a result of a diary. Palnati Surya Pratap is the film’s director. The graph declines in the second half after a quite appealing first half filled with enjoyable magical moments. The events are disappointing and the proceedings are rather slow. The 18-page script has no linear structure. The most effective approach to tell this narrative is this way. But because it emotionally distances the spectator from the plot at times, this back-and-forth narration gets to the point where it annoys us. It drags a little in the climax. Despite having pacing flaws, 18 Pages overall has its charms. The movie, however, is a moving love story with a good heart.
In terms of the movie’s direction, Surya Pratap accomplished a respectable job. Although he was successful in making the lead couple their best selves, he could have been a little more cautious with the suspense and a few crucial scenes. The picture benefits greatly from Gopi Sundar’s background music and score, which is particularly effective. The movie has adequate cinematography as well.
Major Plus Points ;
- Nikhil Siddharth’s attempt at choosing different story
- Character of Anupama Parameswaran
- Gopi Sundar’s music
Verdict; Even though 18 Pages is an innovative effort, to an extent it falls short in terms of having compelling sequences and character growth that would draw viewers in. The second part of the film is less engaging than the first, which has some charming magical moments. Even though the story contains some clichés, it still makes for a watchable film.
