Gist of the Story
One day of phone swapping is required of a young couple. The events that transpire thereafter place their lives in a miserable state and are both humorous and emotional.
Plot
Uthaman and Nikita, two millennial children, are the focus of the love tale in Love Today. Like the majority of modern couples, this pair falls in love and decides to wed before truly “knowing” one another. Nikita’s father then proposes a stipulation for their nuptials. He requests that Nikita and Uthaman swap phones for the day. Only if they are able to fall in love after swapping phones, he claims, will he agree to this marriage. The main conflict of the movie is what occurs when the couple swaps their cell phones.
Performance
In his acting debut, Pradeep displays assurance. He benefits greatly from his neighborhood-guy appearance. As the main female character, Ivana also dazzles. One of this romantic comedy’s standout features is the chemistry between the leads. The storytelling is improved by the seasoned Sathyaraj and Radhika’s faultless performances. The presence of Sathyaraj makes a difference, and this was a good casting decision. When she helps her kid understand the wider picture at that sequence near the end of the film, Radhika truly shines. Another movie demonstrating Yogi Babu’s superiority when he is understated and keeps things straightforward is this one.
Direction / Technical Side
Love Today is a lighthearted look at modern relationships and how our phones can reveal our true selves when we’re by ourselves. Love Today does a great job of highlighting genuine issues while also attempting to do so from the perspectives of both genders. The movie also discusses cybercrimes and the depravity of those who commit them. It demonstrates how difficult it really is for women to use the internet while dealing with abusers. It also explains the negative consequences of receiving unsolicited photos and videos in direct messages and how that affects people’s everyday life. Despite the possibility of the narration becoming clumsy, the latter part of the story is elevated by the proper harmony of emotions between the many characters and relevant conversation. The picture is technically sound, and Yuvan’s wonderful soundtrack makes a world of difference. Despite the songs just being passable, Yuvan performed an excellent job with the background music.
Verdict ; Despite having a predictable plot, “Love Today” is largely engaging and entertaining due to the treatment. It appears that the director has a thorough understanding of his target demographic and has provided just what they require. Overall, “Love Today” offers a delightful, humorous look at contemporary relationships.
