PLOT

Malvika Sharma, who has flown in from America, is asked to marry Kathir in order to get a business agreement. Kathir successfully executes his scheme. In response, Abhi chooses to accept the father-selected groom Arvind (Ananth Nag). In an unexpected turn of events, Saravanan and Diya end up falling in love. Ravi is also shocked to learn that Saravanan’s parents had engaged him to Sara. Kathir also learns that he does, in fact, love Abhi. The remaining portion of the script is all about how these challenging problems are overcome.

PLOT

Spotlight

Jiiva is a renowned actor who excels in giving impromptu, unforced performances. He continues to perform his job well. Jai acts out and wears way too much makeup on his face. In his role, Srikanth fell short of expectations. Amrita Iyer fulfills the responsibilities of her position. Malavika sparkles with a glamorous appeal, although she still needs to improve on her emoting. Raiza Wilson doesn’t have greater room to express herself. Kingsley and Yogi Babu’s portions are so ridiculous. It’s not their fault, though, that Arya and VTV Ganesh’s cameo is such a waste.

Performance

Spotlight

Sundar C has previously produced some really good movies. This time around, Coffee With Kadhal is definitely a miss. It appears that the plot of the narrative is so thin that neither humor nor drama fit its genre. The entire first half of “Coffee With Kadhal,” which establishes the relationships and the issues, is what works best. The plot of “Coffee with Kadhal” is its most distressing component. Because everything can be easily predicted, the viewing became monotonous due to how predictable everything was.

Direction / Technical Side

Spotlight

Although there were unexpected developments in the plot, nothing seemed shocking. Editing is likely the area that needs the most improvement in this case. It feels that way because the filmmaker’s narrative is also a factor, the scene order is so haphazard, there is cohesion at any time, and it is also excessively long due to the presence of so much extraneous material. Despite the fact that the movie attempts to be a lighthearted, upbeat rom-com, it actually has a B-movie feel to it.

Direction / Technical Side

Spotlight

“Coffee With Kadhal” is unquestionably a squandered opportunity. The narrative’s plot seems to be so tenuous that neither comedy nor drama seem appropriate for its genre. Despite the plot’s surprise twists, nothing looked stunning due of its predictability. The film aspires to be a cheerful, cheery rom-com, but in reality, it’s a let down from Sundar C. 2/5
