Plot; One gift is a red sandalwood instrument to lead us into the story of smuggling out of India. Back home, Pushpa (Allu Arjun) works as a worker extracting red sandalwood and has a mad king’s ego. Like our usual heroes, Pushpa has ambitions to one day be a hit. With his gifted courage and his hunched back to pursue his dreams, Pushpa proves his worth by joining Konda Reddy’s (Ajay Ghosh) gang. He climbs the ladder of fame and success by garnering so much attention, including the police. Pushpa tries to undermine existing crime bosses in order to get to Kingpin. Along the way, he runs into his IPS officer, Bhanwar Singshekhawat (Fahad Fasil), who is equally insane.
The story and narration can be a bit fast-paced and slowed down, but it’s understandable given how long the movie is. Full of sequences. But what’s missing is how smugglers evade or trick the police. This is what you would normally expect in a movie like this.
Allu Arjun gave an exceptional performance as Pushpa Raj. His body transformation is perfect. His dialogue with the Chittor dialect is spot on. From start to finish, the movie is his show. This performance would be his one of the best of his career. Among the other actors (there are many characters), not one actor left an impression. As a village beauty, Rashmika Mandanna understands her proper accent and is sincere in her efforts. But her role is predictable to the core. The romantic scenes between them made for laughs, but are too clichéd.Sunil as the villain transforms brilliantly, but his role is also utterly ineffective. Anasuya’s existence doesn’t matter. The guy who played Keshava is fine. So are Ajay Ghosh and Kannada star Dhanunjay. Samantha sizzles in her item song, but the song is short. He is one of the greatest star actors working in India today, Fahadh Faasil coming soon. he makes himself felt.
Review: Pushpa succeeds thanks to Allu Arjun’s charisma. Every time you feel your interest waning, he manages to lure you back with a lifted shoulder, slick dance routines, and snarky punch lines.
